Noxos is selected as Toy of the Week by Playthings

March 24, 2009

Noxos ($14.95), for ages 8 and up, is a strategy challenge game that can be played alone or with family and friends. In this maze—which consists of a single pathway that forms four concentric circles, bounded by mobile walls—players must solve eight challenges, and each has multiple solutions. The player who finds the highest number of solutions on all the challenges wins.

The back-story for Noxos is just as intriguing as its game play. The legend states that, at the creation of the Noxos tribe, all new souls begin life by solving eight challenges, starting at the
center and reaching seven magic creatures (a bird of prey, a fish, a wolf, a turtle, a plant, a snake, a deer) along the way. Every creature represents a valuable human facet. Those who did not find enough solutions to the challenges would not become humans, however; they would only deserve to become a plant or an animal. Those who found no solutions would be turned into a rock!
Noxos is part of a new product line called Module-16, a game system of 16 puzzle tiles, each of which features various thematic challenges.

Two additional strategy challenge games are also available: Kefer, a serpent-themed puzzle, and Tauton, a raft race-themed puzzle. All the games in the line are designed to boost kids’ imagination, curiosity and problem-solving skills through play. In addition, all Module-16 games are crafted from environmentally friendly rubberwood.
